Sleep Disorders Center

Why Choose our Sleep Disorders Center?

It offers state-of-the-art equipment, home-like comfort and an expert staff

Before you spend another night tossing and turning or driving your spouse out of the bed with your snoring, rest assured there is help. Lehigh Valley Hospital's Sleep Disorders Centers can improve your health and quality of life by diagnosing and treating your individual condition.

At our Sleep Disorders Centers, we have doctors who are sleep specialists. They use the most advanced technology to diagnose your problem and recommend simple but effective treatment. We are here to help you get a good night’s rest.

Our staff is led by six board-certified sleep physicians who have treated sleep disorders effectively for 20 years. Our experienced staff also includes registered sleep technologists who will guide and monitor you throughout your study. Our sleep centers are designed to be full-service labs. Our Allentown site is the only sleep center in the area to offer doctor follow-up immediately following your study.

In most cases, your problem can be diagnosed after you spend just one night with us. While visiting the center, you will sleep in a private, home-like room. A specially trained sleep technician will apply sensors to your body, which will detect your level of sleep by measuring brain waves, eye movements, muscle tone, heart rate, respiration and more. The technician will monitor your progress during the session and videotape your sleep to capture any abnormalities observed during the study. The study is painless and designed for your comfort.

Following your sleep study, you’ll meet with a board-certified sleep specialist who will explain your results and propose treatment, if necessary. While a small number of people suffering from sleep apnea will require surgery or medication, more than 75 percent are successfully treated without either.

Most patients who breathe abnormally during sleep are safely treated with a positive pressure breathing device or a small, comfortable oral appliance worn while sleeping. With the proper treatment and healthy sleeping habits, you’ll gain energy you never knew you had!

Our Sleep Disorders Centers are conveniently located and offer many services and amenities.
